About Integral Theory and Sensitivity

Two conversations

Heidi writes

This page is about tho meetings in February of the international group of women in The Wisdom Factory.

The topics we talked about.

From physical problems to Solarflairs and energy sensitivity, to esotericism, atheism and mindfulness, right brain functioning, women’s problems and capacities and much more.

„Women Matters“ is the name for a group of women, who have been meeting regularly, for 9 years in order to talk in a co-creative, feminine way about topics which they consider interesting. There are still some founding members present, some left the group after some years, others came and joined us. It is always an enrichment when we come together from so many different perspectives and share our considerations.

The feminine principle of non-linearity is playing out in every meeting. The topics appear, get addressed, dissolve into related topics and somehow the circle is closed towards the end by bringing back what we learned into the initial frame or into an expanded framework. It is fun and deeply fulfilling for us women to come together in this way, while it is a huge challenge for men to interact in similar settings. They regularly disappear after a while when they realise that their striving of logical and straightforward reasoning is not a fit for our co-creative space.

Having said this I shortly comment on the last 2 meetings of Women Matters.

The first meeting in February welcomed a new member from the integral community in San Diego, California. This gave us the occasion to introduce ourselves a little more broadly to each other and to talk about the history of our female approach to integral theory . Most of us have been deeply involved with Integral Theory for years. So we started the considerations with the question: „How do we live Integral?

When I got to know Integral Theory, more than 25 years ago, I engaged it exclusively with the intellect, trying to understand the theory for many years, working on it from a masculine perspective, I would say today. Then I didn’t know yet all these terms and implications. Monia, one of our founding members who was crucial for the development of the German speaking Integral Movement, founded the „Integral Feminine Consciousness Field“, which responded to the uneasiness of many women in the community because of the absolute dominance of the intellectual understanding, of the male dominated approach.  Hence the development and appreciation of a different way of coming together and structuring our meetings started and lives on in the virtual group of women coming together from 3 different continents.

Unsurprisingly  the conversation came to the question of embodiment of the theory, about the non-intellectual way of living and integrating what we have learned by the theoretical studies. We are talking about perception, sensations, feelings, sensitivity to inner and outer energies, also about the personality types (Christine King teaches the Enneagram and often offers a consideration from that perspective). We share our journeys from „living in the head“ to embracing life with the wholeness of our being. These personal shares are always very exciting and deepen the relationship between us.

The second meeting started with Monia asking the women if they had felt something different in their lives lately as the result of the huge sun flairs which had happened during the last 2 weeks. Some did, some didn’t, which led to consider our mutual exchange of energies on earth, in the cosmos. During the checkins the health situation came up which might be specific for women? We came back to that aspect several times, embedded in considerations about spirituality, esotericism and self healing, exemplified by Hannelie’s healing story https://thewisdomfactory.net/the-healing-of-hannelie/

Tools of self development or spiritual practice? Western Buddhism turns out to derive more from atheism than from a spiritual quest, Mindfulness as a precious tool for self control and psychological growth. We discussed the importance of this insight, as the feminine impulse for wholeness is not really reflected in this way of spiritual – nonspiritual practice developed by men primarily.

We are always amazed how our journey develops during these 60 minutes. We women are deeply engaged with each other, exciting meetings, invigorating and inspiring. Hopefully also for who is listening to our recordings.
